Deepa brings a global mindset and deep familiarity with cross-cultural diversity to Diversity Lab, having lived and worked in the UK, Singapore, and the US.
Deepa has extensive experience working in global law firms and as a senior strategic in-house legal leader, where she led, managed, and developed global legal teams. Deepa began her career as a qualified solicitor in the UK, practicing at Linklaters. She moved to live and work in Singapore and subsequently to New York, practicing at A&O Shearman and other leading law firms. Thereafter, she moved in-house to MetLife and, as a Senior Vice President and Associate General Counsel, was responsible for managing global legal support and strategic initiatives for multiple investment businesses operating in Europe, Asia, Canada, and Mexico.
Deepa received her J.D. and a Master in Law from Oxford University, England. She has also completed the Diversity and Inclusion for HR certificate program from Cornell University.
Throughout her career, she has been a strong advocate for developing and advancing women and underrepresented groups within the legal profession and has actively sponsored, coached, and mentored female attorneys through involvement in multiple external organizations.
