In her latest column, Michele Gorman at Law360 examines the rollback of diversity, equity, and inclusion policies at a few big-name brands and contrasts this with what Diversity Lab sees within the legal profession, “just a small handful of companies that have succumbed to external pressure.”
As previously reported by Law360 Pulse, “the number of firms that have committed to embracing diversity via Mansfield certification continues to grow — even as employers have faced legal threats in the past year over their DEI programs.
In the article, Jim Chosy, senior executive vice president and general counsel at U.S. Bank, says “his law division has been using Diversity Lab’s Mansfield framework for corporate legal departments since the initial pilot in 2019.” The department has “appreciated the rigor it has brought to us to help ensure fair and equal opportunity in hiring and advancement through processes informed by behavioral science,” he added. “We are better because of it, as we select the best candidate/person for the role.”
