The Commitments List, created by Disability Lab’s Disability Inclusion Advisory Group, outlines 10 activities that law firms and corporations can and should employ to build a culture of inclusivity for disabled colleagues.

Corporate legal departments that want to find, connect with, and hire a diverse slate of outside counsel to manage their legal needs. Join the 150+ companies that have already beta-tested the Directory. Born out of the suite of experiments launched via the Move the Needle Fund, the Directory will soon include 5000+ newly promoted partners from Mansfield firms, including women lawyers, underrepresented racial and ethnic lawyers, LGBTQ+ lawyers, and lawyers with disabilities. Research shows that unconscious bias training doesn’t work as a one-off training seminar. Join 30+ law firms and legal departments in 2025 to pilot a year-long, science-driven approach, known as the AV Club, to raise awareness, increase proximity, and foster empathy among colleagues — three proven ways to reduce unconscious bias.
Through facilitated conversations and curated content, AV Club creates opportunities for lawyers to learn, exchange perspectives and experiences, and ultimately, raise awareness and empathy to minimize bias.

Building inclusive teams requires intentionality. Join 10 to 15 law firms to pilot a science-based, tech-supported, innovative approach to finding and selecting more inclusive teams across all practice groups and offices. Sign-ups are scheduled for Fall 2024, and the pilot begins January 2025.
