Valerie Portillo joins Diversity Lab with nearly a decade of legal experience and a commitment to advancing diversity, equity and inclusion in the legal field. She began her career as a project finance attorney at White & Case LLP, where she focused on cross-border transactions in the infrastructure, power and transportation sectors and maintained an active pro bono practice. Valerie transitioned in-house as an Assistant Vice President at The Blackstone Group, managing credit investments across diverse fund strategies and handling investor reporting and compliance matters. Prior to attending law school, she was a consultant in the healthcare industry.
Valerie received a B.A. from Stanford University and a J.D. from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law, where she was a member of the Journal of International Human Rights. She also completed the Diversity & Inclusion certificate program at Cornell University.
